The death of a man in Dubai on Sunday was ruled a suicide after his body was found floating in a lagoon near a major canal in southern Oman.
Authorities have not said how the death occurred, but the cause of death was ruled an accident.
The man’s family said he had suffered a stroke.
The cause of the death was not immediately known.
A spokesperson for the state-owned Al Jazeera English news channel said the body was in the canal for about two hours and was washed out by the current.
The lagoon is one of the busiest in the world, with over half a million people using it daily.
The body of the deceased was later found by police officers at the entrance to the canal, the spokesman said.
Police are still investigating.
