Botswana’s Botswana Mining Association said its revenues in 2016 were up by about 8 percent from the previous year.
The mining company said it expects revenue to reach about $1.3 billion in 2019, an increase of nearly 9 percent over 2016.
The company also said it is considering expanding the mine into Botswana.
Botswana is currently in the midst of a prolonged slump in global prices.
The country is now the third-largest gold producer in Africa, behind only Angola and Mozambique.
Botswana exported $9.4 billion worth of gold in 2016, a fall of $7.9 billion from the same year in 2015.
